Trex IPTV on Windows and macOS
Far and away the easiest place to get to know a large catalogue, because typing three letters beats thumbing a d-pad down a list of six hundred.
Before you start
- A Windows or macOS computer
- The Xtream details from your order
- An HDMI cable, if the computer is going near a television
Install a player
Take the desktop installer from our apps page, or use any Xtream-capable desktop player you already have and prefer. Nothing about the line cares which one you choose, and having a familiar player is worth more than having the one we happen to ship.
Add the account
Put in the three values your order gives you: the address, then the account name, then the password. Paste them instead of retyping - this is the one piece of hardware where pasting is easy, and a password with one character wrong looks identical on screen to a line that has expired.
Search instead of scrolling
Type part of a channel name into the search box and see what comes back. Half of what people report as missing is present under a group name they did not expect, and two minutes with a keyboard settles that question in a way that twenty minutes with a remote does not.
Keep it as the benchmark
When something looks wrong on a television later, try the same channel here first. If it plays on the desktop and not on the set, the line is fine and the problem is in that room. That one comparison removes more guesswork than any other habit on this list.
Worth knowing
- A desktop machine has memory to spare, so it holds a large catalogue without the pauses a television player produces on the same line.
- Windows will probably warn about an unrecognised publisher on the installer. Choose More info and then Run anyway, or stop and use a player you already trust.
- Running a laptop into a television over HDMI is a route people overlook, and it brings the laptop wired connection along with it.
- This is the best machine on which to check whether a channel you were told is missing is genuinely absent or simply filed in a group you had not opened.
Do not have a subscription yet?
