Trex IPTV: swap in a backup server address

If the categories are all present and every one of them opens on a black screen, the account itself is in order: authenticating is what produced that list in the first place. What has gone quiet is the server address the player has memorised, and each TRXA- order is issued with spare addresses precisely for this evening.

The six steps

The sequence is the same whichever player you use; only the name of the field changes, and step two names all three. Have your order or activation email open in another window, because the backup addresses are printed on it.

1. Check that the channel list still loads

Open the player and look at the list itself. If the categories and channel names appear while nothing will play, the account authenticated - which rules out an expired term and a wrong password in one go - and the server address is what has stopped answering. If the list does not load either, this is the wrong guide: check the expiry date on your order first, then the username and password character by character.

2. Find where the host is stored in your player

There are only three places it lives. On an Xtream login it is the field labelled Server, Portal or Host, sitting above the username and password. On an M3U line it is the front of the playlist URL. On a MAG or Formuler box it is Portal 1 in the system settings, and that is also the only case where the box MAC address matters.

3. See where the host ends

An Xtream Server field usually holds the host by itself. In an M3U link of the form http://some.host:80/get.php?username=...&password=... the host is the text between the double slash and the first slash or colon, whichever comes first - a link with no port has no colon at all, so take whichever arrives sooner. The port, the path, the username and the password all come after it and none of them changes.

4. Copy a backup server from your order

Your activation email and your order page both list the backup addresses underneath the primary one. Copy the first backup exactly and nothing beside it. A space caught at either end of the paste behaves precisely like a wrong address and is the single most frequent reason a correct one is refused.

5. Replace the host, and only the host

Paste the backup over the old host in place. On Xtream that is one field and you touch nothing else; on an M3U line it is the front of the URL, with every character after the port left where it was; on MAG it is Portal 1. Save the change and stay out of the other fields entirely.

6. Reload the playlist

Quit the player fully and reopen it, or use its own refresh, so the list is pulled from the new address rather than from the copy it kept. If it is still blank, come back and repeat the last three steps with the second backup address, and then the third.

When a new address changes nothing

This is the right fix when nothing opens. If channels play but stall repeatedly, or a single channel misbehaves while its neighbours are fine, the cause lies elsewhere: what to do when a line stops sets out the checks in order. If the line was bought in the last hour and has not arrived at all, read what happens between paying and watching. Part-way through an install? Use the setup guide for your device. And if every backup host fails, send the TRXA- number over with whatever the screen says word for word, and the line gets opened up at our end.
