Trex IPTV on Amazon Fire TV Stick
The stick most people start on. None of it is difficult, but the player is not sold in the Amazon store, so the first two screens are settings rather than installing.
Before you start
- A Fire TV Stick already on your wifi
- The server address, username and password from your Trex IPTV order
- The Downloader code printed on our apps page
Allow Downloader to install apps
Go back one screen into Developer Options and turn on installing unknown apps for Downloader alone rather than for the whole device. Granting it to a single app costs nothing extra and leaves the stick in a tidier state when you are finished. If Developer Options is not there at all, the seven clicks did not register and the previous step is worth repeating.
Install Downloader and pull the player
Downloader itself is an ordinary Amazon app, so install it from the store in the usual way. Open it, type the numeric code from our apps page into the address box, press Go, and wait for the download to finish before choosing Install. Neither Amazon nor Google lists third-party television players, and that single fact is the whole reason this step exists.
Sign in with your order details
Choose the Xtream Codes option and enter the server, username and password exactly as the order shows them, capitals included. The server is the line host on its own, with no trailing slash and nothing after it. If you took MAG delivery instead, this stick is the wrong device for that line and the portal guide covers it. First catalogue load takes a few seconds and is kept afterwards.
Test it on something demanding
Open a sports channel rather than a news channel and leave it running for ten minutes while the remote is still in your hand. Fast motion is where a thin connection or a tired decoder gives itself away, and a feed that stumbles once every few minutes looks perfect in a thirty-second check and ruins a match three days later.
Worth knowing
- These sticks carry no ethernet port at all. The little adapter that adds one costs less than replacing the stick, and it settles more stuttering than every other change on this page put together.
- Delete the downloaded installer once the player is on. These sticks run out of storage sooner than anything else people watch on.
- Your server address is a line host such as http://line.txteditors.site. It is short enough to mistype and long enough to be annoying, so copy it rather than keying it in from memory.
- If the channel list arrives but nothing opens, the line is working and the address is not. Move to the next host printed on your order before you write in.
